The Police Service Commission today announced the promotion of 51 senior police officers, highlighted by the elevation of Philemon I. Leha to the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police to fill the vacancy created by the death of DIG John Haruna.
The decisions were taken today taken in Abuja at the 28th PSC Plenary Meeting, which also dished out punishment for undisclosed offences. Eight Commissioners of Police promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Policeare: Christopher T. Dega, Aliyu Musa, BalaHassan, Mohammed J. Abubakar, Tambari Y. Mohammed, Ibrahim Abdu, Julius A. Ishola, and Alex Emeka Okeke (AIG Medical Services). In addition, the PSC approved the promotion of 32Deputy Commissioners of Police to Commissioners of Police, while 91 Assistant Commissioners of Police became Deputy Commissioners of Police.
