Dionne Warwick has compared the death of lyricist Hal David was to losing "another family member".
The soul singer, who had several hits with songs by David and his co-writer Burt Bacaharch, issued a statement after the 91-year-old died on Saturday.
She said she would "always have him with me, each time I sing the lyrics" to songs such as Walk On By.
Motown star Smokey Robinson also paid tribute, calling David "one of the greatest composers ever".
